Holiday Workout (No equipment necessary)

We all use the excuse that we’re traveling/visiting family and friends etc. as a way to explain our decrease in activity along with our increase in calorie consumption during the holidays.  Here is a simple way to make sure that doesn’t happen to you! Below are VERY simple workouts that can be done with little to no equipment. Complete the cardio workout on Day 1, the strength workout on Day 2 and continue to alternate or complete both on the same day for an hour long workout to keep you fit and in shape. And remember, no excuses! These workouts can be done anywhere!

Cardio:
Run/Jog/Walk: no equipment needed, just bundle up and head outside
Stairs: if you have them in your house go up and down intentionally
Confined to the Indoors (No Problem!!)

Just find some space and do a minute each of:
Mountain climbers
Burpees
Squat jumps
Jump rope (if you don’t have one, just jump)
Jumping jacks
Jumping lunges
** Keep going through these for 20 – 30 minutes **

Strength:

No equipment (3 sets of at least 15 of each)
Lunges
Push-ups
Squats
Mountain climbers
Wall Sits
Crunches
Burpees
Squat jumps
Pull-ups

 ** Make sure to use correct form and posture throughout the exercises above. This is designed to be a simple workout for a beginner and also acceptable for a more advanced exerciser who may know some additions/alterations to make each exercise harder. **
